Tour de Force for Cancer Cash

Summary

Former England footballers Geoff Thomas and Ian Wright, together with a team of cancer survivors, are taking on the Tour de France to raise money towards leukaemia research at a leading Midland hospital.

Thomas, the ex-Wolves and Crystal Palace player, was given just three years to live when doctors diagnosed chronic myeloid leukaemia in 2003, but he completed the 2,200-mile route in 2005, raising nearly pounds 200,000 for Cure Leukaemia.
