Warwickshire, despite an innings of 118 by 20-year-old triallist Keith Barker, succumbed to a 59-run defeat to Hampshire in the Second XI Championship match at Walmley CC yesterday.
The home team, having forfeited first innings, started the day needing 338 to win but slipped to 26 for four in a total of 278 off 90.1 overs. Barker, a Lancashire-based West Indian left-hander, was watchful before increased his tempo of scoring.
