A top dance music festival and one of Birmingham's best known clubs could be sold off as part of HMV's plans to try and bolster its finances.
The music giant announced that its live music division was being reviewed after announcing half year losses had doubled. The group said it was placing HMV Live, which runs 13 venues - including the HMV Institute in Digbeth - and a number of festivals including Global Gathering near Stratford-upon-Avon, under strategic review which may lead to its sale. Elsewhere, HMV, which owns 252 stores in the UK, said its shift in focus to technology products, which has seen 144 stores refitted to reflect the new emphasis, was paying off.See the full content of this document
