Binge drinking is a very peculiar British disease. While other countries seem to be able to enjoy a sensible drink, the British are particularly keen on the Saturday night ritual of beer and a fight.

Many of the country's cities, including Birmingham, have been turned into warzones as drunken revellers, hen nights and stag parties clash at chucking out time. Like all great British innovations, it is also something we have exported to Ibiza, Faliraki and sundry other spots dotted around the Mediterranean.
