A sale of fine and rare wines on Bastille Day (July 14) will include over 500 lots of exceptional Burgundy and Rhone wines from the collection of a distinguished French family of wine connoisseurs.

Delivered direct to the family home in Versailles as soon as they were released, the wines were housed in two enormous 18th-century vaulted cellars, say Sotheby's, organisers of the sale.
