The oldest golf course in England still playing its original 18 holes could finally by forced to move as it is being eroded by the sea, campaigners said yesterday.
The Royal North Devon Golf Club has used the same course for more than a century but that could soon change as the sea erodes the Northam Burrows country park where it is based. Historically the Burrows are protected by a pebble ridge which, when damaged by storms, would be recharged with more stone, a tradition known as "potwalloping".See the full content of this document
