A pril showers have failed to dampen the spirits at specialist outdoor clothing and goods retailer Blacks Leisure Group as it reported better-thanexpected annual profits and said it was confident of further growth in the year ahead.

Like-for-like sales in the eight weeks to April 24 rose 5.3 per cent, boosted by demand for waterproof clothing as a result of unsettled British spring weather, the firm said.
