The family of murdered cystic fibrosis sufferer Joe Geeling yesterday described a court's decision to increase his schoolboy killer's minimum custodial sentence as a "victory for common sense". The 11-year-old victim's father, Tom Geeling, spoke after three judges in the Court of Appeal in London ruled the original 12-year term imposed last October in the case of Michael Hamer was "unduly lenient" and should be raised to 15 years. "At long last, we feel we have achieved a more just sentence for our son's killer," he stated.
