With the environment increasingly high on the agenda, it's no wonder the most "green-fingered" of events is taking the issue seriously.

A number of environmental or conservation-themed gardens are exhibiting at Chelsea, while the Royal Horticultural Society has turned its attention to reducing the ecological impact of the show. Green highlights include a wildlife garden celebrating 100 years of the Wind in the Willows and encouraging gardeners to help save "Ratty" the water vole, an organic agrarian garden and an environmentally-friendly urban plot for families.
