Zurich Assurance, the British subsidiary of Zurich Financial Services Group, is to transfer some pounds 3.7 billion-worth of annuities to insurer Swiss Re.

Liabilities estimated at a further pounds 3.9 billion will also transfer across to Swiss Re, it was announced yesterday.
